First and foremost – my heartfelt thanks to
B.J. Pagano, Francesca Hunt and Joan Dodds.
Without them there would not be a Ribbon Cap Club.
They put me on the course to raise money for cancer research.
I am eternally grateful.

Hello My Friends:

As a breast cancer survivor who underwent the rigors of a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, the trauma surrounding my medical problems and chemotherapy side effects left me feeling powerless, fearful and mournful of my loss of femininity. I was left bald.

But the heavens smiled down on me, when my friend Joan met a woman who was wearing a beautiful feminine baseball cap – yummy aqua with the brim trimmed with a multicolored ribbon. Wanting to purchase a cap such as that for me, Joan explained my medical story to this stranger. This Good Samaritan, named B.J. took that cap off her own head, handed it to Joan and said to send the cap to me.

I wore that pretty cap to my next chemotherapy session. Everyone loved it.
The ribbon cap made me feel special, glorious. Now I had a reason to don my make up.
As I looked in the mirror when I was wearing the cap, I could see me in my own eyes again.
The twinkle had returned. Joan and I both wrote thank you notes to this gracious stranger.

Less than two weeks later, I received eight ribbon caps in the mail – the creator of the caps is the daughter of my warm-hearted stranger. Daughter, Francesca stated in a note that if I knew anyone who would enjoy the caps to please pass them along. I found homes for all those ribbon caps with women who have been diagnosed with cancer.

We are in the process of forming The Ribbon Cap Club as a non-profit foundation and all proceeds from sales of ribbon caps and other merchandise will benefit organizations that advance cancer research, education and prevention. We are dedicated to providing hope for those patients and caregivers who are facing cancer.

If you would like to become a member of the Ribbon Cap Club and purchase a ribbon cap or caps, please contact me at (302) 422-7878 or by e-mail at cac@ribboncapclub.com or online at www.ribboncapclub.com.

Thank you for your support.

Our hope for all is “To Survive and Thrive.”
